Frequently Asked Questions

Perth Wedding Photographer

Where are you based?

I am a Perth wedding photographer based in Perth, Western Australia.

Do you travel for weddings?

Absolutely. I love destination weddings, whether in country Australia or overseas. Travel fees vary so please ask for a travel quote with your enquiry.

What is your shooting style?

My shooting style is friendly, fun and relaxed. I’ll do my best to make you feel comfortable, guiding you and giving subtle direction to find the best light and the most flattering angle.

I want you to feel as relaxed as possible so your images are truly ‘you’.

What wedding photography packages do you offer?

I offer a range of wedding photography packages starting from $2100. Find out more about my wedding photography packages. Please get in touch to check my availability for your Perth, South West or destination wedding.

Do you offer wedding albums?

Yes, I offer fine art wedding albums. There’s something special about being able to hold, feel and look through your wedding album. A wedding album is much more than just photos. It’s your story.

Can we meet you before booking?

Of course. I’d love to meet you, hear your story and tell you more about how I can capture your wedding day.

If you don’t live in Perth, we can chat over Skype.

We love your work. How do we book you for our wedding?

That’s great! Send through a wedding photography enquiry to check my availability for your wedding date. You’ll need to sign an agreement and pay a retainer fee to secure your booking.

How far in advance should we book you?

As early as possible. The wedding season in Australia is usually from September to April so popular dates get booked quickly. Please note I do not hold dates. I book on a first come first serve basis provided both the signed agreement and retainer fee have been received.

Do you believe in same sex marriage?

Yes! I’ve had the honour of photographing a number of same sex weddings. I hope for a world where there is no such thing as coming out because it doesn’t matter what gender your partner is, where everyone has the right to marry who they love and where a wedding between two men or two women is just called a wedding. Same sex weddings are all about love and the world needs as much love is it can get right now.

Do you offer engagement sessions?

Yes. Engagement sessions capture the love, excitement and anticipation leading up to your big day. They are shot on location and begin at $500 including a selection of digital images.

Engagement sessions are a great way for us to get to know each other and for you to get used to being photographed. Often, couples use the images for their wedding invites or to display at the wedding reception. For more details please get in touch.

We have never had professional photos taken and are nervous. Does this matter?

Not at all. In fact, most people I photograph have never had professional photographs taken. It’s normal to be a little nervous. I can assure you those nerves will disappear once we start shooting. Most people end up loving the experience and having fun.

Do we need to give you a shot list for the wedding day?

No. As an experienced Perth wedding photographer I’ll be ready for all the important moments. However, if there is a specific shot you would really love please let me know.

Do we need to practise for the wedding day photos?

No. Homework is not required! Just be yourself and leave the rest up to me.

Do we need to provide you with dinner at the wedding reception?

Wedding photographers get hungry too so if your coverage includes most of the reception, please provide a meal.

What happens if it rains?

Sometimes the most inspiring wedding photos are captured on rainy days. We can find a spot undercover or if you don’t mind being a little adventurous with an umbrella, the results can be well worth it. Check out some of my amazing rain portraits here.

What is the best time for photos?

In Australia, late afternoon to early evening is the best time for photographs because the light is softer.

How much time should we allow for bridal party location photos?

It depends how many locations you want to visit and how much travel is involved. I recommend at least 1.5 hours plus travel time. I can help you plan your day in advance to make sure there’s enough time for everything.

Do you take family photos on the wedding day?

Yes. Family photos are usually done after the ceremony at the same location.

Where can we see more of your work?

If you like what you’ve seen in my Portfolio, you can see more on my BlogInstagram and Facebook.

We are having a small wedding. Do you photograph intimate weddings?

Yes. I photograph weddings of all sizes.

Are you qualified?

Yes. I have a professional photography qualification and am a member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP). Photography has been my full time career for the last seven years. I love, live and breathe photography.

Why is there so much variation in prices between wedding photographers?

A wedding photographer’s price reflects their experience, time invested before, during and after the wedding, the quality of products and level of service provided. Simply put, your level of investment reflects what you receive.

We love your style but aren’t getting married. Do you offer other shoots?

Please get in touch and let me know what you have in mind.

We have more questions that aren’t listed here. How can we get in touch?
