Bren and Rodney met at a bar one Friday night. Bren noticed Rodney when he first walked in and knew he wanted to meet him. They argue to this day about who worked up the balls to break the ice.
Bren proposed to Rodney on their seven-year-anniversary last July. They had dinner at Frasers in Kings Park. After that they went for a walk and found a quiet spot near the war memorial. Bren dropped down on one knee and started his well-rehearsed proposal, but only got about one sentence in before Rodney jumped the gun and said ‘of course’.
They both wear matching simple white gold band engagement rings.
Bren and Rodney’s engagement shoot is one of my all-time favourites. They were an absolute pleasure to photograph, the location was stunning and the light was beautiful. Everything came together perfectly.
We did the shoot at Yellagonga Regional Park in the northern suburbs of Perth. Yellagonga was the ideal location with its lush open fields, historic buildings and dark, moody forested areas.
Bren and Rodney were so completely at ease. You can really see how much they love each other in the images. Their love for each other is moving.
Their stunning same sex engagement session is featured on Groom + Guy.
